Newcomer Chris Jackson starts with something familiar by opening the record with a sample from Missy Elliott’s “The Rain.” The two-step dance record leaves room for interpretation on what it means to “Lay It On Me.” Jackson aspires to push Gospel music with contemporary non-secular production while maintaining a digestible message.
After working as a songwriter for Toni Braxton, Cheryl Cole, Jacob Latimore and LeToya Kuckett, Jackson is placing his solo career at a higher priority. He is gearing up for the release of his mixtape ‘No Pressure,’ set to drop on April 23, 2013.
