Clive Davis' annual Pre-Grammy party was as star-studded as they come. Held at the Beverly Hilton on February 9, 2013 in Los Angeles, California, the gala, which honored icons like L.A. Reid and paid tribute to the late Whitney Houston, saw appearances from top R&B/Pop stars including Katy Perry, Ciara, Jennifer Hudson, Jordin Sparks, Miley Cyrus, Ashanti and many more.
With so many celebrities under the same roof, the big questions are: Who wore what? Was it a do or don't? and What were he/she thinking?
Here are our do's and don'ts of the star studded gala. The dresses for the most part were elegant and fitting for the event. HOWEVER!!! If you wear an elegant dress that accentuates your arms and or back, the elegance is taken away with excessive tats (Cher Lloyd); she does receive and A+ nod for choosing a beautiful garment and hairstyle. This is true for hairstyles and the dresses you wear. Buzz cuts and short hair cuts don't always look best with such dresses (Miley Cyrus).
There were an array of artists that came out with their best foot forward. Jordin Sparks looked gorgeous along with Ashanti and Ciara. I was hoping that the Hip Hop artists would come to this event dapper like how Dana Dane and Big Daddy Kane used to dress. I was pleasantly surprised to see Future dressed up. Wiz Khalifa, though with too many tats to count, it appeared that his shirt was one big tat. He does get a positive nod for wearing slacks and a blazer.
Katy Perry and John Mayer looked really nice together in what seems to be a pearl colored and studded dress, while Mayer rocks an off white suit jacket and black dress pants. Together it looks like a match made in wonderland…
