In honor of Rihanna being seven albums in, the Bajan beauty covers seven special editions for Complex Magazine’s February/March issue, all emulating the pop star’s different album covers.
From Rihanna’s 2005 debt album Music of the Sun to her most recent Unapologetic, the “Diamonds” singer poses in seven interpretations of former album covers, covering her eye in one with black leather top and pants reflecting her darker era in Rated R and giving a slight slant pose in another to showcase a similar pose to the one on Good Girl Gone Bad.
She 24-year-old rebel star had an interesting interview with the men’s lifestyle magazine that seemed to turn a little sour. When asked about Chris Brown, things got a little touchy. After the journalist made a remark about her relationship with Brown, she responded, “Pardon me?” she hesitated and continued “It’s the truth remember?” then gathered her stuff to leave before finishing, “It’s a fun record that The-Dream wrote and we loved the lyrics. You’re still asking me questions about it so clearly you don’t know.” Before cutting the interview off short however, she did stay in time to talk about her new favorite song since “Umbrella” being “Diamonds” and her fascination with Instagram acknowledging the narcissistic nature of it. “ It’s narcissistic, but whatever—everyone does it. I’m capturing personality… Everybody has their thing they like or don’t like to see. It’s all in your head. That’s why people take their own pictures, because it’s difficult for someone else to capture what you seek.”
You can view all seven covers as well as a few selfie pictures the artist took of herself and had taken of her behind-the-scenes of the Complex shoot below.
