Trey Songz understandably wants to grow as time goes on, but he’s also concerned about chasing after the wrong thing.

Speaking of his forthcoming album “Chapter V” recently, Songz says “A mistake a lot of artists make is they go out and chase something that is not really home for us.”

Insisting he’s comfortable with what he’s achieved so far and the connection he has with fans, Songz hopes his music grows organically.

“I’m comfortable with home. Yes, I want to grow, but I want to grow organically,” says Songz.

In related news, Trey Songz has been nominated for a BET Award. He joins Chris Brown, Usher, Miguel and Bruno Mars in the category for Best Male R&B Artist.

The BET Awards 2012 air Sunday, July 1 on BET. Trey Songz’s album, “Chapter V,” is due later this year.
