On Wednesday October 19, Singersroom and partners kicked off CMJ with Sol Village at SOBs in New York City. Performers included Lauriana Mae (Atlantic), Bridget Kelly (Roc Nation), Verse Simmonds (Def Jam), Nikki Jean, and more. The event also boasted celebrity guests including, Jay-Z, Pharrell, Melanie Fiona and Bad Boy President Harve Pierre.
The event was produced by lifestyle media network, Singersroom, Noizy Cricket!’s Leroy Benros and Valcourt Media Group who merged with SOB’s in August 2011 for the Sol Village monthly R&B showcase.
SOB’s Sol Village is one of New York City’s longest and most well respected R&B showcases. Hosted by recording artist, Eric Roberson since its inception, the series features some of the most promising up & coming talent in R&B. Previous Sol Village showcases have featured artists such as John Legend, Musiq Soulchild, Erykah Badu, Common, Floetry and Dwele to name a few. Sol Village has served as a cultural breeding ground from which young acts have broken into the next level of their careers.
