The 5th Annual Black Girls Rock! Awards is an event that celebrates the power and beauty of black women. The th Annual Black Girls Rock! Awards was an incredible event, filled with amazing performances and inspiring speeches. The red carpet was a visual feast of stunning looks that showcased each celeb’s individual style. Here are some of the highlights:

First up were the musical performances by Teyana Taylor, Ari Lennox, Lizzo, Megan Thee Stallion, and SZA. Each artist brought their own unique energy to the stage and delivered powerful sets that had everyone on their feet cheering. Fans also got to see Tierra Whack perform her hit single “Unemployed,” which garnered huge applause from those in attendance.

Of course, no awards show would be complete without honoring some of our most inspirational women. This year’s winners included Angela Davis for Social Humanitarian Award; Marsai Martin for Young Stars Award; Mary J Blige for Living Legend Award; Issa Rae for Shot Caller Award; and Yara Shahidi for Star Power Award. All these recipients gave moving acceptance speeches that left many in tears — it was a testament to what can be achieved when we come together as a community and celebrate one another’s successes.

I’m proud to have witnessed such a special event celebrating strong black womanhood – one that reminded us all just how much we need to recognize the power of black girls rock!
