R&B singers Teyana Taylor and Elle Varner led the pack of celebrities whom attended The Knick screening at The New York Academy of Medicine in Harlem on Wednesday, July 23, 2014. Others walking the red carpet include DJ & TV personality Amanda Seales, MBK’s Daisha, indie singer Bradd Marquiss, Renee Neufville of Zhane and more.
And no guys…there wasn’t any awkward situations with Tey and Elle (Taylor is currently dating Elle’s ex Iman Shumpert.)
The Knick is centered on New York’s Knickerbocker Hospital during the early 1900s and follows a vibrant team of pioneering medical practitioners, surgeons, nurses and personnel, weaving through profound adversity within the healthcare field of the time, inequality, high mortality rates and scarcity of antibiotics. Academy Award and Emmy nominee Clive Owen stars as Doctor John Thackery, a risk-taking and innovated surgeon revolutionizing new medical techniques and inspiring others. His addiction to cocaine and opium is trumped only by his ambition for medical discovery and renown among his peers.
