Bar-Kays – Grown Folks (Buy)

The Bar-Kays are known for hits “Boogie Body Land,” “Soul Finger” amongst others during the 70s and 80s. The remaining members of the band, James Alexander and Larry Dodson are reintroducing their self to past fans and the younger generation with their first album since 1988. James Alexander, the father of Jazze Pha, called upon his son to collaborate with the Bar-Kays on ‘Grown Folks.’
The lead single “Grown Folks” is lined with Jazzy’s contemporary production, while allowing Alexander and Dodson to remain in their funk and rhythm & blues roots.
