Is Usher the coach/judge to watch on “The Voice” this season? According to Shakira all of the coaches want to be like Usher when they grow up.
Apparently Usher is doing a good job so far, working through auditions, picking hopeful recording artists for his team. He also has credit to his advantage, having helped Justin Bieber reach the level of success he has in a few short years.
“As much as I hate to say this about another coach in the beginning, Usher has done what this show has yet to do – launch a superstar and that’s our goal. That’s something we want to do as an institution,” Levine said of Usher during a press conference Wednesday.
Playfully, Shakira looked at Usher later and said “We all want to be like you when we grow up.”
As previously reported, Usher and Shakira replace outgoing coaches Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera. Their debuts will be televised when the hit reality singing competition returns in March.
