Oakland emcee Mistah F.A.B. gained a reputation as a party-starter during the Hyphy movement in the mid-’00s, but his heart truly lies in working to improve the lives of people in his community.
On his new Son of a Pimp 2 track, “All Around the World,” featuring a verse from Silk-E and a gorgeous chorus from fellow Bay Area songstress Keyshia Cole, F.A.B. laments the state of global affairs over shimmering production from Bay Area sound architects, The Mekanix, touching on police brutality, terrorism, warfare and mass incarceration.
All the while, F.A.B. remains grounded, rapping, “While all these rappers arguing ’bout ‘Man, who is the hottest?’/I’m tryna teach my daughter she’s an African goddess.”
“All Around the World” follows hie previous release “What Yo Hood Like” which features an appearance from Jadakiss and Pete Rock behind the boards.
“All Around The World” is available as an instant gratis track with pre-order of Son of a Pimp 2, out on May 27th.
