Dozens celebrities and people of all walks have partaken in the ALS: Ice Bucket challenge, which supports a good cause. From Facebook’s founder Mark Zuckerberg, former chief executive of Microsoft, Bill Gates to entertainers Kevin Hart and LeBron James, this viral movement has challenged people to unite and give.
The ice-bucket challenge is a social-media phenomenon intended to raise money for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Participants in the challenge have 24 hours to either donate $100 to fight ALS, or dump a bucket of ice water over their heads. People who complete the challenge can nominate three others to take part.
“Without a doubt, the popularity of the Ice Bucket Challenge, the social media phenomenon that continues to sweep the nation, has encouraged tens of thousands of Americans not only to douse themselves with ice water but also to open their pocketbooks and to donate to the fight against ALS,” President and CEO of The ALS Association, Barbara Newhouse, wrote in a press release.
Check out our list of 13 artists, whom have answered their challenge by either dumping cold water on themselves or having other people dose them.
