Is Beyonce following Katy Perry and Justin Bieber with plans to release a major documentary in theaters ? According to recent reports, the “4” diva is not only producing the feature, she is also directing.
Sources say Beyonce and her representatives have been shopping the project, focusing on her life and music, to major Hollywood studios.
“The movie is as a mix of music and personal study, blending concert footage with confessional interview. Knowles not only stars in the project but is directing it, and will also serve as a producer,” the Los Angeles Times reports.
Following the birth of her first child, daughter Blue Ivy, tying the knot with Shawn Carter (Jay Z), and other major events, Beyonce definitely has a lot to discuss and share with fans.
While no further details are available at this point, the documentary could be a huge success. Looking back, Katy Perry’s “Part of Me” has grossed over $24 million since its opening last month. Justin Bieber’s “Never Say Never” has grossed over $73 million (domestic) and was produced for just $13 million.
As previously reported, Beyonce is set to reveal some sort of an announcement or effort via her website August 19. It’s unclear if it will be related to a new album, single, or possibly this documentary.
