American Idol alums Jordin Sparks and Jennifer Hudson will share the big screen in the George Tillman Jr. directed movie "The Inevitable Defeat of Mister And Pete."
Following Soul Food, Notorious and Men of Honor, Tillman's new project follows two inner-city youths left to fend for themselves after their mothers are taken away by the authorities.
According to Deadline, production
on the film begins this week in Brooklyn with Anthony Mackie and Jeffrey Wright as part of the cast.
"The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete" is a big win for Sparks, who has a leading debut in the anticipated remake of 'Sparkle' (due August 17). Hudson's credits include The Secret Life of Bees, Dreamgirls and The Three Stooges. She is also set to appear on the second season of "Smash (NBC)" next year.
