MTV knows that with every Kanye West appearance at the VMAs, a spike in ratings usually follows.
According to sources close to the show’s production who spoke with TMZ, producers are giving Kanye four minutes to do whatever he wants to do, and even they don’t know what to expect!
If you recall last year at the 2015 VMAs, Kanye went on a lengthy, 11-minute monologue during his acceptance speech of the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award in which he announced he would run for President in 2020. And of course, how can anyone forget when he ambushed the stage and stole the mic and spotlight from Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech in 2009.
We can only imagine what going to go down!
Also, MTV announced yesterday (Aug 25) that Alicia Keys, Puff Daddy, and Kim Kardashian are slated to present, as well as Olympic gold medalists Michael Phelps and “The Final Five,” Simone Biles, Aly Raisman, Gabby Douglas, Laurie Hernandez and Madison Kocian.
Tune in on Sunday, Aug 28th 9 p.m. ET to watch the 2016 VMAs live from New York’s Madison Square Garden.
