Rihanna knew exactly what she was doing when she signed on to be Dior’s first black Spokesmodel.
As previously reported, the Bajan beauty has been tapped by the high-end brand to star in the fourth installment of their “Secret Garden” campaign, shot by Steven Klein in Versailles, Paris.
“It feels fantastic,” Rihanna told MTV News, while promoting her animated film Home. “It is such a big deal for me, for my culture, for a lot of young girls of any color.”
She adds, “I think to be acknowledged by Dior means a lot, as a woman, to feel beautiful – to feel elegant and timeless.”
It’s always great when people take advantage of their positions for the better!
Speaking of timeless, RiRi also told MTV that her upcoming highly-anticipated eight studio album will be just that.
“I’ve made a lot of songs that are really, really big songs,” she said. “And I wanted to kind of get back to—not that they weren’t real music, but I just wanted to focus on things that felt real, that felt soulful, that felt forever.”
“I wanted songs that I could perform in 15 years; I wanted an album that I could perform in 15 years,” she adds. “Not any songs that were burnt out. I find that when I get on stage now, I don’t want to perform a lot of my songs. They don’t feel like me. So I want to make songs that are timeless.”
