Sam smith makes a strong statement with his new music video for the song “Lay Me Down. In the clip, the British R&B/Soul crooner stands at the podium in a church and delivery his thought-provoking lyrics as members hold him lit candles like a vigil.
“The ‘Lay Me Down’ music video holds a very dear place in my heart. With this video, myself and Ryan Hope, the director, have decided to make a statement and showcase something we passionately believe in,” Smith proclaims about the visual. “This video shows my dreams that one day Gay men and women and transgendered men and women all over the world, like all our straight families and friends, will be able to get married under any roof, in any city, in any town, in any village, in any country. I hope you enjoy it.”
Smith’s debut album, In The Lonely Hour, has sold nearly 3 million worldwide. He is up for six Grammy Awards, with nods in all four top categories, including album of the year.
