Philly quartets Mprynt and Good Girl come together for the sake of remembering the victims of police brutality on “One Sweet Day,” a cover of Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men’s 1995 mega hit.
In the clip, both groups come together to sing in an empty auditorium while photos of John Legend, Marsha Ambrosius, Elle Varner, Chrisette Michele and others appear in the clip, holding up signs of the names of the victims.
They caption with the video,
“MPrynt & GoodGirl would like to thank every person who both believed in and helped us in any way with this important project. We have one goal, and that's to be a voice for those who cannot be heard. Please take the time to research every name lifted up in this video, for their stories and those of countless others should all be known. To the families of these victims, we want you to know that the deaths of your loved ones have NOT gone unnoticed; know that your stories will be told! We stand with you! #OurLivesMatter."
Both groups do an awesome job covering that classic, and pairing it with that context is touching, indeed. Watch and enjoy MPrynt and Good Girl's moving tribute.
