Are you ready for another singing competition series? Following the success of "The Voice" and "American Idol," CBS has decided to enter the genre with "In The Spotlight."
Executive produced by Nigel Lythgoe ("So You Think You Can Dance"), not much is known about the format for "In The Spotlight."
"THR hears that it will feature musical performances and aims to offer a fresh take on competition," reports The Hollywood Reporter.
With successful reality competitions like "Big Brother," "Survivor" and "The Amazing Race" to its credit, CBS' pilot order of "In The Spotlight" is somewhat surprising considering the recent cancellation of "The X Factor USA" (FOX) and the continued loss of viewers for "American Idol" (FOX).
