Solange is kicking off her independent label Saint Records with its first album called “Saint Heron,” a compilation set of new material by a mix of her favorite up-and-coming R&B artists.
Scheduled to arrive on Nov. 12, Solange is at the helm of the project’s artist section, which include Starchild, Cassie, Sampha, Jade J, Jhené Aiko and BC Kingdom. Solange will also vocally contribute to some of the LP’s cuts, along with Kelela, Petite Noir, Iman Omari, and India Shawn.
In conjunction with the label launch and album, Solo will launch the website SaintHeron.com, a mecca for interviews, critiques, and music.
“With Saint Heron I really wanted to celebrate and continue to cultivate the community for genre-defying R&B artists,” said Solange. “I’ve personally connected with all of these extremely talented artists, and really excited for us to come together through the compilation as a new movement for music.”
