Vocalist Amel Larrieux has been laying low since her 2007 jazz album Lovely Standards, but a new song has surfaced from the Groove Theory singer in the form of “Afraid,” a breezy joint for summer about being so discombobulated by new love.

“Almost walked into a wall imaging your embrace…/…Got me afraid of you, so fine sometimes I forget to breath,” sings Larrieux as she utilizes her famous sound; light vocals effortlessly gliding over a head-bobbing beat.

No word on if this is the first offering from her upcoming album Ice Cream Every Day.
