Aretha Franklin Cancels Dates, Prepares For Treatment

The Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, will not be performing at planned events, including a concert at the Foxwoods Resorts & Casino, later this month.

Set to undergo unidentified treatment, per doctor's orders, Franklin has canceled both a May 20 show with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and a May 26 show at Foxwoods Resorts and Casino (in Connecticut).

It's unclear what has caused Franklin's illness and what she is being treated for.

As previously reported, Franklin underwent surgery for an undisclosed condition in 2010.
