Helene Faussart aka DJ Golden Athena, better known as one half of Les Nubians, has branched out to start the natural beauty care company Nu Organiks. The natural living lifestyle was instilled in her as a child based on her mother's habits.
She depicted the journey to launching her company insisting, "My mother was a NATURAL ORIGINAL AFRICAN WOMAN. She was a vegetarian since birth, she was doing yoga and meditation, no make up, no chemical cosmetics, only natural medicines and drugs, she was an holistic woman. All her life, she made sure that I understood the benefits of a natural life."
The new venture is viewed as a extension of her mother's legacy. Nu Organiks offers several organic skin and hair products for both genders. The products can be ordered online or through a retailer in Brooklyn, N.Y.
As a group, Les Nubians will be performing at Essence Music Festival in New Orleans July 4 -7, 2013.
