Ciara Thanks Fans For Voting Her Singersroom’s 2012 Next Diva

Diva – A diva is a celebrated female singer. The term is used to describe a woman of outstanding talent in the world of opera, and, by extension, in theatre, cinema and popular music

With generations of legendary R&B singers including entertainers like Etta James, Aretha Franklin, Anita Baker, Whitney Houston, Toni Braxton, Beyonce and Alicia Keys, fans continue to search for new divas of their generation. New talented artists are expected to magnetize audiences with soulful vocals, impeccable style, and authentic personality. Singersroom asked the question, “who is the Next Diva?”

Throughout the month of August 2012, Singersroom highlighted twenty-five female artists that could carry the torch with music enthusiast voting for the top candidate. The Next Diva nominees were chosen based on Style/Fashion, Stage Performance, Personality and Music.

At the contest finale, Epic Records recording artist Ciara was crowned Singersroom’s 2012 Next Diva winner and she was excited to thank the voting community.

“I wanna thank all of you who voted for me for Singersroom’s 2012 Next Diva, that mean’s so much to me, thank you for loving what I do as I love what I do and I love that you love what I do,” Ciara says in the Singersroom exclusive video. “Look out for my new album, One Woman Army, it’s on the way baby.”

Ciara debuted the music video for the lead single “Sorry” yesterday (September 13) and will release her fifth studio album, One Woman Army, later this year.

Love it or not, after five albums in this fickle music business, I think we can drop the “Next” and call Ciara “Diva.”
