R. Kelly Vows To Get More ‘Personal’ With Fans

The R in R&B, R. Kelly admits that he has been very much a studio artist over the years. With the release of his memoir, Soulacoaster: The Diary of Me, the “Feelin Single” singer plans to open a new chapter giving fans an idea of who he is.
“No better time than now. Everybody knows me musically and R. Kelly writes songs and I’ve done the award shows and everything,” R. Kelly told MTV in a several part interview to air in the next few days. “[But] I felt it was time for them to know me personally, you know?”
In addition to his memoir, R. Kelly plans to do a lot more press.
“I’m a guy that spends a lot of time in the studio … and I just never really in my career, during my whole career, got into doing a lot of press,” says Kelly. “I’m ready to do it now.”
As previously reported, Soulacoasta: The Diary of Me is available now. Kelly’s album, “Write Me Back,” is also available now.
