American Idol may have enough money to pay Mariah Carey, this despite what Nick Cannon says about them not being able to afford the World Music “Artist of the Millenium” Award winner.
According to recent reports, Carey is close to securing a $17 million deal to sit as a judge on the next season of American Idol.
The deal comes to head just as Carey is preparing to launch an anticipated album with as single she has dubbed “Triumphant.”
Announced over the weekend, Carey says the song is something she wrote when going through a difficult time.
“I wrote TRIUMPHANT when I was going through a difficult time & it helped me get through it. When u hear it, pay attention 2 the lyrics #WIN,” says the “Hero” and “Can’t Take That Away” singer.
Produced by Jermaine Dupri, “Triumphant” will also feature contributions from Maybach Music Group’s Rick Ross and Meek Mill.
While it is unclear when Mariah’s anticipated album will drop, “Triumphant” will be released in August.
