Mary J. Blige’s ‘My Life II’ Due in November

The queen of Hip-Hop Soul Mary J. Blige will be releasing her new album ‘My Life II… The Journey Continues (Act I)’ on November 21st, according to Rolling Stone.

The album will serve as a sequel to her 1994 breakthrough album ‘My Life,’ which was predominantly about the singer’s struggles with drugs and domestic violence. Now, seventeen years later, the sequel focuses more on self-empowerment and the growth she’s experienced these past years.

The first single “25/8” was released on August 25th, and has reached number ten on iTunes for Top R&B/Soul song.

The R&B queen is also currently working on a couple of movie projects and even a follow-up album to the sequel. “We’re going to do Act II, because it’s just too much good music,” says Blige.
