R&B singer Kelly Rowland took the high road recently when responding to comments from Jeff Bhasker, a producer responsible for several hits with Beyonce, Kanye West and Alicia Keys.
As Singersroom previously reported, Bhasker slammed Kelly Rowland’s hit song “Motivation” on Twitter stating, “How can this kr song with the weakest beat and melody of all time be the #1 song on urban!? Oh yeah. Wayne.” The producer, who is responsible for Beyonce’s “Party” featuring Andre 3000 and Kanye West also added: “I just listened to Motivation again to see if I was to harsh in my critique. I wasn’t. The lyrics are horrid as well.”
Speaking with BET recently on the subject, Rowland decided to take the positive route.
“You know what, the record speaks for itself,” Rowland states. “Opinions are like **sholes, everybody’s got one. He’s made wonderful music with my sister and other artists. There’s no reason for me to say anything negative.”
But don’t count Rowland out as a sucka, she kept her real feelings bottled up. “‘Cause I won’t tell you the thought that is really in my head,” she adds. “I’ll just kill ’em with kindness.”
That’s how you handle business Ms. Rowland! Her new album, Here I Am, Is in stores this Tuesday July 26, 2011.
