A week from today (July 19), Kelly Rowland will release her highly anticipated third studio solo album, Here I Am, which will feature the chart topping single “Motivation” featuring Lil Wayne.
“Motivation” is Rowland’s first #1 single as a solo artist and as far as the music video, the R&B beauty says she was thinking about “sex” while making the clip. “If it’s a sexy video, you’re more than likely thinking about something to do with itâ¦you need a little bit of Motivation,” Rowland tells Bleu Magazine.
‘Here I Am’ features collaborations with a myriad of A-list talent, including Dr. Luke, Stargate, Salaam Remi, Ne-Yo, Rico Love, Jim Jonsin, RedOne, Tricky Stewart, Esther Dean, Rodney Jerkins, and David Guetta, among others.
Rowland is currently enjoying her worldwide success, adding that it’s her time to be solo.
“I love being a solo artist; I love being in a group also. I think that when it comes to being a solo artist, you get a chance to express yourself from your level only; it just allows you to be you,” she says. “When you’re in a group, you’re thinking about everybody and there is a time and a place to be in a group and a time and a place to be by yourself.”
‘Here I Am’ will be available everywhere July 26, 2011
