Alternative soul singer Mayer Hawthorne has officially signed to Universal Republic Records, and will release his sophomore album ‘How Do You Do’ this fall under the Universal imprint. Along with the announcement, the press release also noted that the Ann Arbor native also has a new single out today called “A Long Time”, which is available for preview and purchase on iTunes.
After releasing his self-produced debut album ‘A Strange Arrangement’ in 2009 and receiving high praises, Hawthorne also spent much of the time performing and even DJing shows. Though going the independent route, he caught the attention of many due to his unique sound and approach to soul music. Most recently, Hawthorne released his ‘Impressions’ EP for free, which featured six cover tracks.
