It is extremely obvious when you meet John West, he is a man of the people. Not in the sense that he is a political reformer, rather he plays the game of life on the same field as a garbage man, teacher or doctor. The Louisiana native’s first artistic choice was drawing and sketching before he started to dabble in music. West was sucked into pursuing music while attending Columbia College Chicago, the same school as Def Jam singer Jeremih.
Upon graduation from college, West decided he needed to move to New York or Los Angeles to pursue his music career. While working nine to five as a street performer on Santa Monica’s 3rd Street Promenade, West connected with everyday people building a loyal fan base.
