Grammy award-winning megastar, Jennifer Hudson is slated to make her debut ESSENCE Music Festival appearance alongside R&B/Funk icon Chaka Khan with a special reunion performance from New Edition as well at this year’s festivities.

The annual festival, which will take place in New Orleans on July 1, 2, and 3 has also added Kem, Miguel, Naughty By Nature, Doug E. Fresh, Marsha Ambrosius, Mavis Staples, Eric Benet, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Trin-i-tee 5:7 and Brian Courtney Wilson to their diverse list of performers.

Now in its 17th year, the premier destination for music lovers is anticipating one of their biggest festivals to date. With a previously announced line-up which includes Kanye West, Mary J. Blige, Trey Songz, Jill Scott, Charlie Wilson, Boyz II Men, Fantasia, George Clinton, Macy Gray and the recently announced new additions, the landmark event has earned the title of the most-sought-after music festival of the R&B world.
