After starting out with a member of Linkin Park and their Vanity label, singer Skylar Grey recently inked a new deal with Interscope Records, following a production deal with producer/songwriter Alex Da Kid through his Wonderland Music imprint. Gray is currently in the studio writing and recording her sophomore album, for which she intends to release the lead-off single this spring.
Following a critically-acclaimed breakout performance at the GRAMMY Awards, Grey, who has become known for her songwriting and featured vocal collaborations with Eminem and Dr. Dre, T.I., Lupe Fiasco, and Diddy Dirty Money, will perform âComing Home,â with the group on American Idol this week, during the live results show on Thursday, March 10th. In addition to being featured on the song, Grey is also a co-writer.
âGetting to perform on television with Eminem and Dr. Dre still doesnât feel real to me and now to perform with Diddy-Dirty Money in the course of a month is unreal,â said Grey. âIâm really excited about the opportunity to perform on Idol. Itâs incredible to have all of this leading into my album coming this year – I am so fortunate.â
Grey released her debut album âLike Blood Like Moneyâ in 2006 under her real name Holly Brook.
