Jennifer Hudson’s intensely soulful voice has been enchanting listeners since before her American Idol days. The Oscar-winning Dreamgirl’s most recent venture includes being a spokeswoman for Weight Watchers – and her new song “Feeling Good” explains exactly how her weight loss journey has impacted her. The new track is a part of an ad campaign Weight Watchers is launching immediately after Christmas. Hudson says this song is about getting her story out to others to help motivate them. In April, Hudson confirmed that she would be the new face of Weight Watchers and by August, InStyle Makeover magazine reported that the songstress had dropped from a size 16 to a size 6. Fans can also read Hudson’s blog on Weight Watchers’ website where she shares tips for what works for her, advice and her favorite recipes. She says that not only losing weight has brought her joy, but dialoguing with others in the dieting community. “That goes back to why I did the song,” says the singer. “I know so many people out there who are on the same path. Anything I can do to help them along, that motivates me, and inspires me.” The dieting firm’s marketing chief, Cheryl Callan, says it is Hudson’s ability to identify with real women who struggle with body image and eating issues that allows her to be a great spokeswoman. She advises “It’s one thing to lose weight, but it’s another thing to eat healthy.” and Hudson’s healthier lifestyle through Weight Watchers is one she is determined to embrace 2011.
