After honoring Hip Hop icons and associated record labels including Def Jam, VH1 is opting to recognize the wealth of talent from the Dirty South on its annual VH1 Hip Hop Honors. Set to air next month, VH1 Hip Hop Honors, in its seventh year, will in fact celebrate the music, influence and artistry of Jermaine Dupri, J Prince of Rap-A-Lot Records, Luther “Luke” Campbell, The 2 Live Crew, Master P and Organized Noize. Joining a line up that includes Paul Wall, T-Pain and Bun B are current movers and shakers Trina and Pitbull, who will take the stage during the ceremony at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom. Set to air June 7 on VH1, VH1 Hip Honors will be hosted by comedian/actor Craig Robinson (“Last Comic Standing,’ The Office’).
