The catch phrase not guilty but guilty might apply to R&B chart-topper Chris Brown after ‘nude’ photos of his ex-girlfriend Rihanna made headlines over the weekend. Brown, currently facing felony assault charges for his alleged beating of Rihanna in February, has been continuously brought up in several (online) reports as an upset lover who wants “revenge”. Even popular blogger/author Perez Hilton wrote “Chris Brown must be responsible for this!” Rihanna, reportedly upset and recording new music in Hawaii this week, had just made a comeback of sorts last Monday at the MET Costume Ball in New York City where she both walked the red carpet and took the stage to perform with Kanye West. While there is no proof of who released the alleged nude photographs of the singer it has been confirmed that Brown is not responsible — at least according to his rep: “This is both a false and defamatory statement. Chris has not released or ‘leaked’ any photos of Rihanna (or anyone else for that matter),” a spokesperson for Brown told Essence after learning of allegations that he had in some way leaked the photos. But the statement has not swayed public opinion of fans who’ve written comments like “Chris Brown is a poor excuse for a man, not to mention a vindictive as*hole” to “Chris Brown is finished. His pretty boy innocent thing he had goin on is gone”. As previously reported, Brown bared striking resemblance to a man photographed in one of the alleged Rihanna photos. In the photo the man, wearing pink undergarments on his head, is sitting on a bed shirtless in a room that appears to be same place where the other photos were taken. Brown is due in court May 28 on felony assault and making criminal threats charges.
