Just as Simon Cowell warned last week, two of this season’s American Idol contestants would be sent home Wednesday. Sadly Lil Rounds and Anoop Desai have been eliminated from the competition. Rounds, performing “I’m Every Woman” earlier this week, was called “a mess” and subsequently received the fewest votes. However, Rounds’ performances have been “less than desirable” for several weeks according to judges and thus the Memphis, TN mother of three was sent packing with 22 year old college student Anoop Desai. “I’m really disappointed,” Desai reportedly said after being booted from the competition. Rounds and Desai will however take the stage on this summer’s American Idols Live Tour (click here for dates, more information). With Rounds and Desai out, American Idol is down to its final five. Kris Allen, Danny Goeky, Adam Lambert, Allison Iraheta, and Matt Giraud round out the final group. Another finalist will be eliminated next week.
