Chris Brownâs lawyer is reportedly in court today for a hearing related to the case, as the R&B/Pop star waits for his April 6 arraignment on felony charges of assault and making criminal threats stemming from an alleged February 8 incident involving girlfriend Rihanna. Brown’s attorney, Mark Geragos, requested the unscheduled hearing, but Los Angeles District Attorney’s office spokesperson Jane Robinson said Brown did not have to be present for the proceeding. Robinson could not comment on what the hearing will cover, as it will be held behind closed doors. Patricia Schnegg, the judge in the case, and Rihanna’s attorney, Donald Etra, will also attend. TMZ reports that the hearing might have to do with Rihanna testifying in the case. As previously reported on Singersroom, Rihannaâs attorney Ettra Etra said “If required to testify she will testify.” He also told officials that Rihanna was not in need of a ‘no contact order,’ went on to say “Rihanna opposed that”. Brown, who is free on $50,000 bail, is expected to appear in court April 6.
