There was Michael Jackson fever on American Idol Tuesday night and according to Paula, Randy, Simon and Kara, Adam Lambert rocked the icon’s “Black or White” so well he’ll be around for sometime ! Performing an energy filled rendition of Jackson’s “Black or White,” Lambert received praise from the audience and Paula Abdul. “You’ve got the whole package going on,” said Abdul. Lambert was not the only one to receive a great review. Season frontrunners Lil Rounds and Danny Gokey received praise from both Simon and Randy for their performances of “Pretty Young Thing” and “The Way You Make Me Feel” respectively. However, Tuesday’s praise came to an end when performers Jorge Nunez and Anoop Desai took the stage to perform “Never Can Say Goodbye” and “Beat It” respectively. Nunez, a 20 year old student from Puerto Rico, was blasted for his song choice. Defending the choice to sing “Never Can Say Goodbye,” Nunez told judges “I was not going to sing ‘Bad’ by Michael Jackson” to which Simon Cowell replied “Well, you sorta did!”. While Simon was less than enthused with Nunez, Anoop Desai was the target of the night’s harshest criticism. Randy Jackson said the 21 year old’s decision to perform “Beat It” was the “wrong choice”. Two singers — not one — will be eliminated from the hit show Wednesday ! Who should stay ?
