Estelleâs fresh take on R&B and Hip Hop has officially turned the singer into an international superstar. âAmerican Boy,â the singerâs latest single has been #1 in just about every European nation bringing about a true international commotion and a bevy of upcoming promotional campaigns for the once unknown singer. As of today, Estelle has, in edition to hitting #1 on the European Airplay chart, topped the airplay charts in the UK, France, Italy, Belgium, Denmark and Ireland. These advances in addition to her unique fashion sense has allowed Estelle to take on a number of fashion campaigns slated to run through the fall of this year. Kicking off with Leviâs, the fashion icon is featured in the breakthrough “Unbuttoned” advertising campaign which features her among a gallery of people who contribute to the world’s culture in music, art, fashion, film & retail. The Levi’s campaign includes creative new digital technology which will be featured in a number of national publications. In addition to working with Leviâs the âShineâ singer joins Ciara, Beyonce and Justin Timberlake in the Candie’s Foundation’s fall/winter PSA campaign. The campaignâs mission is to educate teens about the devastating consequences of teenage pregnancy, an epidemic that condemns hundreds of thousands of teen mothers and their children to a life of poverty, it also features Fergie, Hillary Duff and Ashley Tisdale. In related news, Estelle looks to be a contender for a few Grammys next year. The Los Angeles Times recently declared Estelle to be among the top candidates for a “Best New Artist” nomination at next year’s Grammy Awards. “(Estelle is) the type of artist Grammy voters love,” wrote music reporter Todd Martens in his “Extended Play” column.
