Q-Tip Taps D’Angelo and Raphael Saadiq For ‘The Renaissance’

Hip Hop veteran Q-Tip is gearing up for the release of his long-awaited second solo album entitled “The Renaissance” and he’s brought along D’Angelo and Raphael Saadiq for the album full of summer jams, club bangers and introspective songs. According to the Los Angeles Times, the A Tribe Called Quest frontman feels that the time is right for his new album, his first since 1999’s “Amplified” which spawned the hit singles “Vivrant Thing” and “Breath & Stop.” “I had to wait until the time was right. If I put it out a couple of years ago, it wouldn’t have been right. But now you have people like Santogold, Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, Common. It seems like it’s a bit more in tune with what I’m doing,” Q-Tip tells the Los Angeles Times on the album’s constant setbacks. R&B singer’s D’Angelo and Raphael Saadiq have already collaborated with the Hip Hop star who also says he has worked with Grammy Award – winning singer Norah Jones on a song called “Life Is Better.” In addition to “The Renaissance” the Harlem-born MC looks forward to release his ‘Kamaal The Abstract’ album later this year which was previously shelved by Arista in 2002.
