UK R&B Artist Jamelia Set To Work With Pharrell

She may not be a household name in the United States, but Jamelia who was rumored to be linked to Usher in the past is huge “across the pond,” and she’s snapped up Pharrell of the Neptunes for her next album. According to The Mirror, the singer/songwriter known for her hit “Superstar” was approached by the hit maker last week. A source told the magazine: “The pair met at the F1 bash in London last week and hit it off. His people asked her to discuss working on her next album. She was very flattered.” Jamelia’s new album, due next year is the followup to her platinum selling album “Thank You” and gold-selling album “Walk With Me” released in 2006. Since her debut in 2000, Jamelia has earned four MOBO Awards, six BRIT Award nominations and eight UK top ten singles. Pharrell’s latest project “Seeing Sounds,” with N.E.R.D partners Chad Hugo and Shae Haley was released June 10th.
