Stevie Wonder and Tori Kelly took the stage at the 2016 BET Awards for the second Prince tribute of the night with a performance of one of Prince’s classics, “Take Me With U” from Purple Rain, his Oscar-winning film.
In front of photos of the late musician and purple lighting, Wonder and Kelly sang the duet originally performed by Prince and Apollonia.
Surprisingly (and probably a last minute addition), Jennifer Hudson appeared for a powerful rendition of “Purple Rain” …and, what can you say? JHud killed it as usual. Dressed in a hooded, all-white ensemble (inspired by a fashion forward outfit worn by Prince, below) Jennifer belted the iconic ballad like only she can.
