Beyonce took the world by surprise today (Dec 13) after releasing her self-titled fifth solo studio album.
In an unprecedented move, Queen B bypassed the marketing and advertising work of radio & video placements, leaks, media scrutiny, gossip talks and social network blurbs to release the project on her own terms; direct to consumers.
The only promotion was left to word of mouth, clips of the 17 visuals packed with the 14 songs, and these promotional images of the music superstar.
“I didn’t want to release my music the way I’ve done it,” she states. “I am bored with that. I feel like I am able to speak directly to my fans. There’s so much that gets between the music, the artist and the fans. I felt like I didn’t want anybody to give the message when my record is coming out. I just want this to come out when it’s ready and from me to my fans.”
One of today’s mastermind in creating new trends, whether in music, fashion, or so on, Beyonce looks fabulous in the promotional shots.
In related news, Bey's new album reportedly sold 80,000 downloads in the first three hours and the project is number one in 66 countries.
