Solange is getting back in the music game soon, and she’s making her presence known. She recently posed for a photo-shoot with Lurve Magazine in which she shows her sultry side. Another set of pics show her playfully going ham on the lipstick application. Whatever side she’s showing, the fact is…she’s back!
In the accompanying interview, the natural-haired diva talks about how she is no longer no a part of the Carol’s Daughter hair brand, and how her Twitter hair rant was misconstrued. “I’m actually no longer a part of Carol’s Daughter, but throughout my entire time working with them, I was constantly fighting for the right message to be heard. The message that, the way we wear our hair is a personal choice, there’s no right or wrong way; one way doesn’t make us more intelligent, or more superficial, and every one makes that choice for very different reasons.”
She also dishes on what it was like growing up being the younger sister of superstar Beyonce, and how their parents were more lenient on her. “I think your parents set so much structure in the first child because it’s so new and fresh, and you are trying to do everything right, and by the second one you’re like, ‘Eh, they’ll be okay,” she explained. “In one way, I think that my parents’ leniency really allowed me the freedom and experiences to be a very independent thinker. In a lot of ways, I had the freedom to really explore the world. They trusted me and I really tried to hold value in that. That is, until I got pregnant.” [laughs]
