Tattoos, for the most part, hold significant meanings for whoever bares them, so when celebs get tats, everyone wonders what their motive is behind the ink. That’s the case with Rihanna and Chris Brown, who both got new tats over the weekend.
Rihanna’s tattoo spreads across her chest, and is of the Egyptian goddess Isis (or Aset) in memory of her grandmother Clara Braithwaite who recently lost her battle with cancer. “Goddess Isis – Complete Woman – Model for future generations – #GRANGRANDOLLY – always in and on my heart #1love,” she tweeted. The meaning behind RiRi’s understandable, even in its grandeur.
Chris’ tat, on the other hand, has many people scratching their heads. Brown’s newest body artwork is what looks to be a battered face, a woman maybe, on the right side of his neck. Some speculate it’s Rihanna’s bruised and bloodied face we all saw from the leaked photos from the infamous domestic violence debacle, but Brown denies the connection. Sources tell TMZ that the image is of “a random woman,” perhaps in homage to the volunteering he’s been doing at the Jenesse Center, which is the oldest domestic violence prevention center in Los Angeles; just an ode to domestic violence in general, which happened to be a major turning point in his life.
