Just a day after dropping her sexy female empowering single “All To You” was revealed, seductress Sabrina Claudio taps Texas native Khalid for the groovy love song, “Don’t Let Me Down.”
The single premiered this morning (April 4th) on Beats 1 with Zane Lowe. Sabrina has proven loyal to the station as Beats 1 has premiered a handful of her singles since signing with Atlantic Records.
On the duet, the singers bring sultry yet soulful vibes throughout the Sad Money’s production.
Sabrina teased the collaboration and video yesterday via Instagram with a clip of her standing in a thong one piece with a diamond-netted cover-up, standing in a field alongside Khalid.
“I had the whole song written — two verses, a bridge, everything was written, but I was like, ‘this is missing something,’” she explained. “Khalid came to mind and I just sent him the song over text and was like, ‘Tell me what you think, honestly, I hear your voice on this, if you’re willing to jump on it, I’d be honored.’ The next day he came to the studio and wrote and recorded his verse in an hour.”
The duet finds Sabrina and Khalid spilling their hopefulness for love onto the track. “Don’t let me down,” they sing. “I told you things about me / Don’t let me down / I let you put your arms around me.”
Claudio explains that this is a song about showing someone the vulnerable side of you and in return asking that they respect and uphold your vulnerability.
