Interscope Records’ emerging R&B singer Arin Ray comes “a long way since the X Factor” by releasing his debut album, ‘Platinum Fire.’ Headed by the previously released singles, ‘We Ain’t Homies (featuring YG)‘ and ‘Communication (Ft. DRAM),’ the 14-song set will take listeners on a “winding journey as Ray reminisces over everything from love and temptation, old school memories and failed friendships.”
“This is history for me, 22 years in the making, I put my life into this sh*t,” Arin states. “Changing the way we listen to music has always been a dream and this is my opportunity.”
‘Platinum Fire’ features productions from F Keys, Terrace Martin, Childish Major and Nez & Rio, whom all help Arin showcase his well-tuned vocal range over a medley of hip-hop, jazz and neo-soul influenced instrumentals. Other artist features include Childish Major, Terrace Martin, Ty Dolla $ign, DRAM, and SiR.
The new album follows Arin’s 2016 EP, Phases, released four years after first gaining popularity on the hit show X Factor. The singer and songwriter’s resume also includes a long list of writing credits which includes songs for Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna and Rick Ross. This year, he also plans to release a jazz album with Terrace Martin and Robert Glasper.
