With their first music release since 2016, Alt-Soul group PREP returns with the new single, “Don’t Bring Me Down.” The jazzy uptempo song is featured on the collective’s forthcoming EP entitled Cold Fire, which is set for an April release.
PREP is comprised of a hip-hop producer, a classical composer, a house DJ and a singer-songwriter/co-writer who’s last collective body of work, Futures, achieved much buzz after its initial release. Frontman Tom Havelock has written for RAY BLK and Sinead Hartnett, and his fellow band members include Grammy-nominee Dan Radclyffe (known for his work on recordings by Drake & AlunaGeorge), DJ GIOM (previous collaborations incl. Defected Records/Joey Negro & he’s currently touring with George Fitzgerald) and successful classical/opera composer Llywelyn Ap Myrddin.
Joining PREP on the forthcoming album will feature production by Pomo (Anderson .Paak) and new Kitsuné signing Reeva DeVito, alongside Korean RnB wunderkid DEAN.
The London four-piece pop enthused sound is contagious and ensures a good mood. “Don’t Bring Me Down” has a touch of 80s synths which marries the lead singer’s vocals perfectly.
