Lion Babe & Angel Haze Link Up For Isley Brothers-Sampled Groove ‘Jungle Lady Remix Pt.II’, Prep Summer Tour (Dates)

New York-based duo Lion Babe (Jillian Hervey and Lucas Goodman) drop “Jungle Lady” Remix Part 2 featuring Angel Haze, the lead single off of the upcoming Kitty Cash mixtape, Love The Free, Volume 3 (which will be released in June). The song will also be featured on LION BABE’s upcoming new project, which is announced today as being set for a summer release. The song is remixed by Jillian’s brother, Devin Christian.

This is a dope flip, with Angel Haze adding a 90s-like rap flow in the style of MC Lyte. “This is a throwback remix of our song ‘Jungle Lady’ off our album Begin,” LION BABE tells The FADER. “It’s inspired by a mix done originally by Jillian’s brother Devin. Our bud Angel Haze lays the 90s flow and crooning. Bad Boy baby, a tribute to the Isley [Brothers], Biggie and all the vibes we love.”

“I liked doing this shit,” says Angel Haze. “It was like a daydream through nature and a Biggie song. Plus, Jillian sounds dope on it.”

“I wanted to kick off the mixtape with this track because it is the perfect mix of old school meets new school. For the last installment of this mixtape series, I definitely wanted to perfect it and create a true story between the artists, the music, and the interludes.  Although the previous mixes had a great flow, I really wanted to highlight emerging artists and push the conversation of love” explains Kitty Cash.

The song appeared in its original form on LION BABE’s acclaimed debut album, Begin, which was released earlier this year.

It is also announced that Lion Babe will be bring their live show across the United States for their first-ever headlining North American tour this summer. The two-month trek is set to kick off on July 1, 2016 in New Orleans, LA at the 2016 ESSENCE Festival. Check the dates below!
