It’s rare to hear a hearty, R&B ballad nowadays, but Oakland’s own Aria Minor comes through to fill that void on her debut single “Centerfold."
Upon listening, a sense of soothing will overcome you as Aria’s cool-yet-warm vocals and tender lyrics cradle your heart. The song has Aria politely making sure that when she gives her heart, it’s not in vain.
“If I break down these walls and give you my all / Would you make me the star of your show? Centerfold,” she sings on the chorus.
Aria found her passion for singing while listening to such artists like Anita Baker and Michael McDonald. After graduating from the prestigious Berklee College of Music, Aria went on to explore and perfect her gifts of singing and performing with tenacity. Her musical attributes have been positively enhanced as a background vocalist for Grammy Award winning artists Stevie Wonder, Ledisi, and Cee-Lo Green, to name a few. But now, Aria Minor is stepping out into her own spotlight.
“I just want to make an impact on the hearts of my listeners. And touch the core of what we really need, which is love,” she says.
